The world’s favorite social platform: WhatsAppMina Banzon
In the Global Web Index (GWI) recent series of new social media questionnaires survey, one of these questions was asked the respondents to identify their favorite social media platform. The result showed that WhatsApp is the world’s favorite platform, don’t get confused with Facebook as the largest and top social networking platform by many demographics.
All over the world (excluding China users are currently unable to access the same social media platforms), almost a quarter (24.1%) of internet users with age ranges to 16 to 64 said that WhatsApp is their favorite social media application.
Facebook is the second in the ranking, with almost 22% of respondents choosing this option, while Instagram ranks third, with 18.4%.
Surprisingly, Twitter ranks fourth at a worldwide level. The fact that Twitter ranks higher than TikTok may raise an eyebrow for few, but mind that GWI’s survey only covers the users between the ages of 16 and 64.
GWI’s data distinctly shows that liking varies significantly by age and gender, even within that 16 to 64 age group.
Regardless of these differences, Facebook’s platform is still the top choice across all demographic groups.
If you’re a Social Media Marketer, you might want to study and consider these data for your next social media strategy. It really pays an important role to understand the behavior of your audience so that you can adapt and provide value to your audience as a brand.
